Southern XC League Race 2:
12 November at Queen Elizabeth Country Park
Come along to help HBAC keep that first place! You just need a club vest and some money for parking and cake
Meet at QECP with plenty of time for the team photo, any toilet stops and to get to the start line OR car share from Woolmer Hill bottom car park at 9.45am
Portsmouth Joggers invite you to league race 2 at QECP on Sunday 12th November. The course is in the lovely country park with plenty of hills and forest trails. The race will be a single lap with a long flat(ish) start before a nice steep hill to take you into the forest section.
As this is Remembrance Sunday there will be a minutes silence at 11am followed by the start just after 11:01am. The course distance is 5 miles.
Race Meet: The meeting area / finish, is in lower field which you get to by walking past the park visitor centre. The start line is a short 2 minute walk up hill from the finish area.
Message from Portsmouth Joggers:
Directions: QECP is very easily located off the A3 just south of Petersfield – there are large signs on the A3. Post code PO8 0QE
Car park – competitors must park in the race car park – there is plenty of space if you park considerately. It will be an enormous help if you can car share where possible. Please do not park in the visitor centre car park or drive down to lower field. The QECP require all cars to pay £1.50 and display a parking ticket. Please help us by bringing the correct change.
Failure to display a car park ticket will result in a parking penalty being applied by QECP.
The race car park is just off the northbound carriageway on the slip road (please do not park on the slip road which is exceptionally dangerous). If you are heading south follow the slip round under the road bridge and up to the car park.
Final XC race of the season coming up!!
Date: 26 February
Start Time: 11am
Where: the royal school - Farnham Lane Haslemere GU266BW
So it's our final race, we are so close to be confirmed as 2016/2017 Southern Cross Country League Winners!
We would love to have as many of the club there as possible to finish on a high with a final win of the season.
Even if you're injured or don't want to run you can still be part of the day, marshalling or helping with teas/coffees and cake. If you do want to help rather than run please let Andrew Wareham know.
On the day car parking at the Royal school will be a bit tight so like last year can as many people please park in the punchbowl and then run across. But make sure you leave plenty of time as it's a 5/10 min run but a good 15/20 min walk.
Any questions please let Sofia Shearring or I know
Can't wait to see you all there!!
Good afternoon all
The next XC race is fast approaching so now is the time to get it in the diary. We are currently first in the league and another win could secure the title for us. It would be great to have as many HBAC runners there as possible.
DATE: 22nd January
RACE START: 11am
VENUE: Manor Farm Country Park, Pylands Lane, Bursledon SO31 1BH. As this venue is slightly further away, car share from the bottom woolmer hill car park will depart at 9.30am.
Please car share where possible as there is limited parking, the country park have agreed that we only need to pay the 1 hour £1.50 rate for all runners rather than £3.50 for over an hour.
