Winter training and a few reminders

Winter training is upon us all and with the dark evenings comes the need for ALL ATHLETES to wear high viz when running away from the track. Coaches and leads will potentially ask you not to train if you do not have the appropriate attire. We do have a few high viz bibs but really it is your responsibility. Head torches. How ever are optional. Please return borrowed high viz.

Numbers remain high and in order for athlete to properly train during a rep session please DO NOT bunch up and chat it hinders other athletes from overtaking safely, remember it is dark and this does effect our peripheral vision. Chatty runs are of course absolutely fine and infact very enjoyable just not at training. If you wish to have a gentler session than the scheduled session please do come to training join the warm up & drills then run the outer rugby pitches.

Finally... It is NOT acceptable for any athlete during training to make unpleasant comments aimed at any coaching member and it is extremely sad I even have to mention it.

The coaching team will continue with the smaller warm up, cool down and stretch groups it is proving to be more manageable and most importantly instructive to developing good technique.

Tuesday training sees us this month on Woolmer hill, there is a lot of lighting and dishes to collect and get into the garage and it is much appreciated if everyone can help. We will be moving Tuesday training to Kingswood firs for the month of December and into the new year and the start of marathon training schedule.

Thursday Ludshott run out.

The evenings are drawing in fast now so we have decided to meet on the corner of Ludshott. Please get to the car park in grayshott giving yourself as much time as you need to run down the road to Ludshott, if you are short of time and cannot get there 10 mins early then drive down to Ludshott and you can park there. Dan will meet everyone on the corner of Ludshott ready to set off 7pm promptly.

have a great run all and I think it might even be an evening for a post run drink.

September senior training

September training schedule will be out next week. We will continue to use Woolmer Hill for Tuesday training, there will be no track so distances will be marked out and as the light fades small lights used on top of the dishes to mark out the way.

All Thursday training sessions in September will be setting off from Grayshott car park by the Fox and Pelican pub promptly at 7pm. There will be dedicated coaches for all paced groups.

We will head out to Ludshott common and enjoy the last weeks of decent light evenings there, both 1k reps sessions and pryramid sand session and a couple of tempo distance run outs. I'm sure we should have at least one Thursday evening where we head into the pub for a drink or two, maybe the last Thursday in September?
