Request One - Food for us to share!
As anyone who has been to the AGM before will know, the fantastic free food is one of the highlights of the evening - lots and lots of home cooked high quality mains and amazing puddings to share.
Could you let me know if you are able to show off your cooking skills and make a main course or a pudding. The club will reimburse the cost of the ingredients.
Request Two - Your 2015 PBs and great achievements!
Ahead of the AGM I am preparing an update on the Road Racing people have done over the course of the 2015 and would like to hear from you if you PB'd in any of the following distances -
- Half marathon
On top of that and regardless of whether you PB'd, let me know if you think you may have been the quickest male or female club member in any of those events in 2015!
Finally...... if you didn't PB but achieved a result you were particularly proud of please also feel free to drop me a line, it would be good to hear from you.
Contact me on email@example.com for both/either.
Hello London Marathon people
For the past few years we have organised a minibus to take us to the start of the marathon. It's an easy way of getting there and is nice to share the journey ahead of the race with clubmates.
If you would like to join the bus crowd (or simply fancy an early morning trip to Blackheath), please let me know on firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll book the correct sized vehicle. It is also fine for any of your pals/neighbours/colleagues who are running and aren't club members to pay up and come along for the ride.
It will probably cost between £20 and £30 each but this will be confirmed when we have numbers and the minibus cost.
Post race drinks
It might be nice to meet in the Sports Bar and Grill in Waterloo post race for celebratory or commiseratory drinks and food - a hobble from the finish and right there for the trains home. It worked well last year.
Happy final few weeks training.....
We would like to open up the opportunity for an HBAC camping trip at a beautiful place aligned with a race (or two!) over a guaranteed sunny weekend in July. Jules and Matt Dellar already do this each year with our pals from Farnham, and we thought it would be fun to join them!
Weekend of July 9th 10th
Brockenhurst Parkrun, Saturday July 9th . All parkrun enthusiasts should run this, it looks like a really nice one through the New Forest
New Forest 10, Sunday July 10th http://www.nf10.co.uk/ . All 10m finishers receive a horse brass, something I always like to get as part of a race goody bag, especially when the race only costs £13. We could even have a go at winning the male and/or female team prize
We are looking at using Long Meadow campsite
Anyone at all! A great opportunity to come with or without children. Either way, I'm sure there will be lots of chance for some relaxed drinks and barbeque action.....
Let me know if you are keen on coming along and simply book yourself into the race - email@example.com
As you know it is the festive pub training session tonight, with fancy dress an amusing option! This is always a fun event and well worth turning up to. Get your trainers and costume on, stuff your money somewhere safe and run from pub to pub
If you are getting there late, are coming off the train from work or are injured or something, feel free to come along to the White Horse or Swan where there will be some club members having a (quiet?) drink. People should be in one of those pubs from 7pm or so
Happy Holidays all!
Our (recently vanquished at Bourne Woods) friends from Basingstoke have sent an email about the Hampshire Hoppit Trail Half and Full Marathon in June next year. It looks pleasant and each finisher receives an engraved glass with a beer...
