If you are coming on Friday night, I have booked the Club from 7pm and we thought we would start the evening off with the quiz at around 7.30pm to allow people to get a drink and assemble their teams!
I understand there are several rounds to the quiz so we can stop for food half-way through, and also do the GP presentation.
I know a few people have offered to help set up which would be lovely and may involve moving some tables and chairs if you could please come for 7pm.
We will have full access to the kitchen and there are several pots & pans that we can use, but we just need to remember to wash up afterwards! May I suggest that if you are bringing a dish that needs to go in the oven that you are responsible for it, I would hate for something that had been lovingly prepared to burn!
I will buy some plastic cutlery, paper plates, bowls and polysterene cups from Tesco that can be thrown away at the end and saves washing up!!
The bar will be open for drinks so there is no need to bring your own!
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Friday for a fun-packed evening! (no doubt there are people already brushing up on their knowledge!)
Can you believe we are in October aIready?, So I thought I'd send a reminder about our Harvest Supper which will be on Friday 20th October, at 7pm up at the HBAC Club House. We will also be having a quiz hosted by our very own 'Quiz Masters': Cairon Pearson and Steve King (thanks guys). Everyone is welcome and would be great to see lots of you there....!
The plan is that people bring food along with them for us all to share, so if you have a Nigella in you and would opt for a Desert or maybe a Jamie and prefer to do a Main that would be lovely - just let me know what you plan to prepare so I can get an idea from everyone. If on the other hand, you prefer to bring nibbles, savouries or soft drinks that is absolutely fine too.
The bar will also be open so we should all have a jolly good time!
We also thought this would be an excellent opportunity to present the GP prizes for 2016-17 and Dave Card is busy preparing those prestigious HBAC mugs & T-Shirts as we speak!
Finally , if I could get an idea of numbers over the next week or so that would be fab!
See you all soon
We have another Social event for your diary which will take place on Friday 20th October: based on a similar format to last year in which we had a supper evening but this time we have our very own QUIZ MASTERS in the form of Steve King and Cairon Pearson who will testing your knowledge on all sorts of stuff and no doubt providing us with elaborate cross-dressing outfits!!
Venue: HBAC Club House, Woolmer Hill
Time: 7pm onwards
Food: Bring your own; Starter, Main, Pudding or Nibbles
The bar will also be open ....!!
So hope to see you there,
More details to follow nearer the time.
As you know the South Downs Trail Marathon is coming up on Saturday 17th June and I know a number of people had expressed interest in the Relay event.
In order to ensure everyone who has entered is able to participate we need to organise transport, and confirm the numbers ASAP. May I therefore suggest that each Team nominates a Captain, who could then email me their team members please? I have personally never taken part in this event so it would be helpful to hear from people who have as I understand getting people to starting points on the relay may take some time, particularly with the number of runners on the day.
I have added the link to the email again so hopefully this will help:-
If you are not running but coming along to support the HBAC runners the plan was to have a Picnic and a few Bevies after the event so it would be lovely to see as many people as possible and to make this a real social outing!
If I have missed anything, do let me know and volunteers are welcome to help coordinate,,,!
Have a fab Bank Holiday tomorrow!
As you know we have our AGM on Friday 31st March 2017, at 7pm up at the HBAC club house and I thought I would just send through some updates about the evening.
If anyone would like to stand for the following roles within the Committee such as: Chairman, Treasurer or Club Secretary expressions of interest would be welcome.
We want to celebrate the individual achievements across the club that you have all gained over the past 12 months; Whether it was your first 5km?, Amazing fundraising achievement? or Your Fastest Marathon? Please email Luke to let him know the runs that you have been most proud of at: email@example.com
Fastest Club Times
If you think you may have the fastest club time for either Men or Women of any the distances below please also tell Luke, as you may well be the Haslemere Border AC 2016-17 Champion for the Distance!!
For those of you who are new to the club we share a delicious dinner during the evening, all prepared lovingly by our club mates - from Nibbles and Starters to Main Courses and Puddings. If you would like to prepare a dish please let Luke know and also keep hold of your receipts as the club will be more than happy to reimburse you! We may prepare a little less rice this year!!
Finally: Celebrating our Amazing Cross Country Championship!!
As well as our Scrumptious Dinner, the Club would love to give a free glass of bubbly to raise a toast to each and every person to say thank you and well done for the part you have all played in making this incredible achievement happen - and the party doesn't stop there, as we would love to see as many of you as possible celebrate in town after the AGM for a few drinks in the White Horse.
Thanks so much to everyone!
