Juniors Season Plan spring/summer 2013
Haslemere Border AC is Clubmark accredited club.
Clubmark is a cross-sport accreditation programme for sports clubs; it is a national standard for quality sports clubs recognised across the country and is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.
Clubmark stands for higher standards of safety, fairness, coaching and management. This means that a club that has been awarded Clubmark has achieved minimum operating standards in safeguarding and protecting children, quality coaching, equal opportunities and good management. By choosing a Clubmark accredited club such as Haslemere Border Athletic Club, you will know that your son or daughter is playing their sport in an environment that is challenging, fun and safe.
Junior Running Group
We are currently taking a junior running group aimed at over 14s on Sundays (time TBC but is currently 12.30) up at the track at Woolmer Hill. We will be devising individual session plans tailored to each athlete’s needs and cover drills etc. for sprinting and distances of up to 10k; there may be the opportunity to train further with the seniors under my guidance on a Tuesday night at 7-8pm but that is to be confirmed. Your son/daughter will probably need to be able to run comfortably without stopping for 20 minutes (or approx. 3k) and will need to be fairly self-motivated as to start with he or she may need to perform additional training outside of our organised sessions.
Your son/daughter will be required to register as a Junior member of the club which will give him/her eligibility to compete in regional cross country competitions on behalf of the club should he or she wish to; there are additional benefits including discounts on sports equipment which can also be taken advantage of. Application forms can be downloaded from the Membership section under “About us”.
Places are strictly limited so please please contact Paul as soon as possible for further details or to register an interest
