You will be pleased to know, the club have one place up for grabs for next years marathon on April 27th. This years draw will take place at the Xmas party on December 7th.
If you would like to be included in the ballot for the club place, you will need your rejection letter or email from London marathon ( showing your intention to run this years race ). You will also have to meet the criteria below. But firstly and a reminder, this year we have changed the way the draw will take place.
Coaches will give a maximum of 5 names during the course of the year for each night, ( Tuesday and Thursday ) depending on how often they deem you have turned up to training, (their decision will be final and can not be challenged ) but you will be informed before the draw on how many names you have gained.
So if you regularly turn up on both training nights, 10 names could be earned. You will also get 1 name per XC race you did and extra names for volunteering.
How will names be earned for training (percentage ):
- 1 name / member of HBAC no coaching sessions.
- 2 names 1-25% of training sessions
- 3 names 26-50% of training sessions
- 4 names 51-75% of training sessions
- 5 names 76-100% of training sessions
- Each XC you did will gain you a name, so 5 races potentially could mean 5 names whereas 1 XC would be 1 name.
The criteria for the club place is listed below:
- You must have a rejection letter or email from TCS London Marathon
- You need to have been a paid up member since June 2023 or before.
- A club vest must be worn during the marathon, this doesn’t mean you can’t still raise money for charity.
- If you are lucky enough to win a place then you can’t enter the club ballot again for 5 years. This will hopefully give others a chance in the coming years.
