Nine HBYA runners produced an excellent team performance, including three podium finishes, at the challenging Blackdown Trail Race.

Haslemere Border Young Athletes (HBYA) enjoyed an excellent team performance at the Blackdown Trail Race, with nine young athletes tackling the challenging junior 5km course.

The team delivered some fantastic results across the age categories, demonstrating the determination, commitment and team spirit that are helping the newly formed club establish itself.

Girls’ results

In the girls’ 14–15 age category, Betty secured an impressive first place, with Freya finishing fourth, Alice sixth and Isla seventh.

Boys’ results

The boys also performed brilliantly, with Samuel claiming third place in his age category. In the 11–13 boys’ category, Rory secured another podium finish in third place, while Fraser finished fifth, Archie 13th and Freddie 15th.

The coaching team are immensely proud of all nine athletes, whose performances reflect the hard work and commitment they continue to show in training. With three podium finishes and strong results throughout the team, Blackdown was another positive milestone for HBYA.

As the club continues to grow, we welcome young runners of all abilities who would like to develop their skills, challenge themselves and enjoy being part of a friendly, supportive team.

Congratulations to all our athletes for representing HBYA so brilliantly at Blackdown!
